UPDATE (4:29 p.m) Governor Cuomo has lifted all travel and tractor trailer restrictions on roadways across New York State. The tractor trailer bans on the New York State Thruway, I-81, I-86/Rt. 17, I-87 from Albany to the Canadian border and I-88 will be lifted effective immediately. The Broome County travel ban has also been lifted.

LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (AP) — A popular state-owned beach in the southern Adirondacks is closed for the second time in less than a week because of high levels of bacteria.

The state Department of Environmental Conservation announced Tuesday evening that it has closed Lake George Beach due to coliform counts that exceed health department guidelines.

The DEC says it's also closing all waters in the area known as Dog Beach, located just west of what's also known as Million Dollar Beach.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York's attorney general has reached a settlement requiring a Buffalo-based insurer to pay thousands of improperly denied claims for outpatient psychotherapy and nutritional counseling for eating disorders.

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says investigators found more than $1.6 million in wrongful insurance denials by HealthNow, New York Inc., which covers more than 573,000 New Yorkers.

Schneiderman says insurers have legal obligations to provide the same level of care for behavioral problems as other ailments.
