The high school spring sports season is coming to an end. For baseball players, it’s the first year they’ve had a limit on how much they can throw.

SYRACUSE (WRVO) - Syracuse University men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim said he never had any intention of staying with the program beyond next year. 

Governor Tom Wolf is urging Pennsylvanians to stay off the roads today, as a major storm dumps snow across the midstate. With nearly a foot and a half of snow expected, Wolf is urging people to postpone unnecessary trips. He says it's a pretty good day to stay indoors.

ROCHESTER (WXXI) - The state's largest governing body for high school sports is issuing new rules this upcoming baseball season. The New York State Public High School Athletic Association has for the first time, issued new rules regarding pitch count limits for varsity athletes.

BINGHAMTON (WSKG) - Professional hockey in Binghamton will have a new look next year.

“The New Jersey Devils will be bringing their American Hockey League development team to Binghamton and the Floyd L. Veterans Maines Veterans Memorial Arena will be their home," said part-owner Tom Mitchell.

(WXXI) Each year the FIRST Lego League competition has a different theme. This year was all about “Animal Allies”, and encouraged participants to explore interactions between humans and animals, and how they can work together in a more cohesive away. A regional championship was held Sunday at the University of Rochester.

University officials hope the new athletic director will be staying much longer. John Wildhack is an SU alumnus and executive vice president at ESPN in programming and production.

Enock Francois is a sixth grade special education teacher at Spencer-Van Etten Middle School in Tioga and Chemung Counties.

(WXXI) Proponents of mixed martial arts are making their annual push to have the sport legalized in New York.

One of the big questions in the wake of the state’s renovation of the New York state fairgrounds near Syracuse, was what will happen to Super Dirt Week once the grandstand and track come down. Gov. Andrew Cuomo, during his "Capital for a Day" visit in Syracuse Wednesday, announced that Oswego County will reap the economic benefits of the popular event.

The 2015 World Indoor Lacrosse Championship is being billed as "lacrosse comes home" because it is being hosted by the Onondaga Nation and the sport was invented by indigenous nations in upstate New York. The tournament runs from Sept. 18-27.

A wrongful death lawsuit against NASCAR driver Tony Stewart could be headed to Rochester.

According to ESPN, Stewart’s lawyers are requesting that the case filed by the parents of Kevin Ward Jr. be moved from federal court in Utica (which is the court that covers the Ward family hometown of Port Leyden), to the federal court in Rochester, which covers the area of Canandaigua Motorsports Park, where Ward was killed.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP)  The Buffalo Bills are turning their offense over to Tyrod Taylor, who has won the starting job after a three-way quarterback competition during the offseason.

Coach Rex Ryan announced his decision following practice on Monday. ``It came down to the explosiveness Tyrod gives us,'' Ryan said.

Though they were not victorious in Sunday's Little League World Series title game, the Red Land Little League Team received a hero's welcome from fans in Lewisberry, Pa., Sunday night.

They lined the streets, cheered and waved signs for a team that still owns the bragging rights to the title "United States champions," which they won on Saturday. But the next day, Red Land came up short in a tension-filled Little League World Series title game — jumping out to an eight-run lead but ultimately losing 18-11 to Japan.
