From Empty Gym to Full House
For nearly twenty years a Bally Total Fitness sat collecting dust in Tucker — until Londzell Hardy wandered in and decided to turn the place into something that actually hums with life. People told him not to bother. He did it anyway. Classic plot twist: the building went from ghost gym to a 1,200-seat performance spot.
A rough shell, a big imagination
When Hardy first stepped inside, it looked like someone had forgotten to finish a renovation and left a cave behind. Rather than bulldozing the whole thing, he rolled up his sleeves and reimagined what was already there. He didn’t shy away from the mess — he used it as a blueprint.
Repurposed with personality
Instead of erasing the past, the new venue embraces it. Old locker rooms became cozy suites for visiting artists, open spaces turned into audience seating, and the bones of the gym gave the place a unique, lived-in vibe. It’s part speakeasy, part theater, and fully somebody’s bold idea brought to life.
Built by someone who knows a good party
Hardy’s background in nightlife and entertainment shaped the makeover. He wasn’t just building a building — he was crafting an experience where people can laugh, dance, and forget they ever paid for a treadmill membership. The focus is simple: give the community a place to come together and have a great time.
Already catching attention
Even now, as shows begin, the place is drawing eyes and ears. Folks are calling, dropping by, and filling seats. The proof, Hardy says, is in the crowd — people laughing, moving to the music, and trading the usual evening scroll for actual human connection.
This is just the opening act
The project is far from finished in spirit. Hardy plans to keep developing the space, booking more artists, and creating new opportunities for performers and the neighborhood. Buckle up, he jokes — things are only going to get wilder and more entertaining from here.
