Loughlin and Giannulli acknowledged paying half a million dollars into the operation run by Rick Singer and the Key Worldwide Foundation to have their daughters listed as recruits to the University of Southern California’s rowing team — despite neither daughter being a rower. Ouch.

Loughlin served two months in federal custody, was fined $150,000 and ordered to complete 100 hours of community service after her release. Giannulli received a longer sentence: five months behind bars, 250 hours of community service and a $250,000 fine. Not exactly the kind of publicity anyone wants.
